About The Position

Child & Family Healing Center provides 24- hour intensive residential treatment on Shineforths staff-secure, unlocked 33-acre campus. Our multidisciplinary team integrates Collaborative Problem Solving with family engagement, psychiatry, nursing, verbal and non-verbal therapies, social work, and counseling. We collaborate with communities in a Systems of Care approach to ensure successful transition into residential treatment, through intervention, and back into the community. We assess strengths and executive functioning to develop treatment goals for youth and families. We serve males, females, and gender-diverse youth ages 11-17 at time of admission, who are in the custody of their parent/guardian, the Department of Social Services, or the Department of Juvenile Justice, and have a minimum IQ of 65 (evaluated on a case-by-case basis).Trauma historiesMood and anxiety disordersEmotional, social, and behavioral challengesAutism and other neurological differencesProblem sexual behaviorsA Family Finding/Engagement Specialist to engage in the Family Finding process for youth currently in a psychiatric residential treatment program and simultaneously in (or in jeopardy of being in) DSS custody. Assist families or natural supports through the Family Finding process to enhance family engagement, customer service needs, clinical outcomes/discharges rates and advocacy for youth receiving residential care. Connect families to formal and informal resources, helping them understand systems/services and build resiliency.Shineforth has been an unwavering champion for children, teens, and families for more than 125 years. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Must have experience working with individuals in social service setting, preferably with children and families.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience navigating the foster care system, Department of Social Services, post adoption services, and/or kinship family finding preferred.
  • Experience working with youth in residential programs is preferred.
