About The Position
A Family Finding/Engagement Specialist to engage in the Family Finding process for youth currently in a psychiatric residential treatment program and simultaneously in (or in jeopardy of being in) DSS custody. Assist families or natural supports through the Family Finding process to enhance family engagement, customer service needs, clinical outcomes/discharges rates and advocacy for youth receiving residential care. Connect families to formal and informal resources, helping them understand systems/services and build resiliency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Must have experience working with individuals in social service setting, preferably with children and families.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience navigating the foster care system, Department of Social Services, post adoption services, and/or kinship family finding preferred.
- Experience working with youth in residential programs is preferred.
