The Family Faith Formation Coordinator is primarily responsible for the coordination and oversight of the Religion Education Program at the elementary level, specifically for Grades 1 to 6. This role involves a variety of tasks including recruiting and training catechists, managing program registration, maintaining sacramental registers, and ensuring compliance with diocesan requirements. The coordinator will also be responsible for organizing key sacramental events such as First Reconciliation and First Communion, as well as overseeing the SPRED (Special Religious Development) program and Vacation Bible Study. Additionally, the coordinator will have secondary responsibilities related to Adult and Family Ministries, which include organizing Bible Studies, Parish Retreats, and Marriage Preparation programs. The position requires regular interaction with parishioners, clergy, and diocesan offices, necessitating excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the Catholic Church's teachings and policies. The coordinator will be expected to provide weekly announcements for the parish bulletin, maintain the parish website, and prepare monthly reports for the Pastor. The role also includes attending staff meetings, training sessions, and retreats to ensure alignment with the parish's mission and goals. In terms of scheduling, the Family Faith Formation Coordinator will work regular hours from Monday to Friday, with additional hours required on days when Faith Formation classes are held, as well as on Sundays. The coordinator must be flexible to accommodate the needs of the programs and the parish community, including evening and weekend coverage as necessary. This position is exempt and full-time, with a focus on fostering a safe and engaging environment for all participants in the faith formation programs.
