The Family Development Coach and Job Developer role focuses on building strong, trust-based partnerships with student participants and their families while supporting students in achieving both personal and professional goals. Through a strengths-based approach, the FDC guides participants in setting realistic, achievable goals that promote self-reliance, personal growth, and positive behavior change, helping them identify challenges, explore opportunities, and develop practical strategies to overcome barriers. The role includes coordinating services, connecting families to necessary resources, and ensuring support is aligned with each participant’s individualized plan. Simultaneously, the Job Developer component supports students in securing meaningful employment, internships, and work-based learning experiences by collaborating closely with students, school staff, and external employers. This includes cultivating employer partnerships, understanding labor market trends, preparing students for workplace success, and matching participants with opportunities that build transferable skills and professional confidence all rooted in a relationship grounded in mutual respect, accountability, and empowerment.
