About The Position

Mentor South Bay provides Early Intervention, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Behavioral Health and Mental Health Outpatient services across Massachusetts and Connecticut. The Paid Family Centered Clinician Intern role involves providing person-centered assessments in various areas, developing service or treatment plans, and providing activity and participation-based interventions. The position requires 24/7 coverage for assigned individuals and families, making referrals to services, and maintaining documentation. You will also participate in team meetings and support peer development.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related degree that will lead to licensure in counseling.
  • Completion and proof of a Master's level practicum.
  • Previous experience working with children/adolescents in a clinical or mental health setting preferred.
  • A valid license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered assessments in behavioral health, education, personality, community engagement, vocational needs, relationships, and family interactions.
  • Develop service or treatment plans based on assessment of strengths and needs, collaborating with referral agencies and individuals served.
  • Provide activity and participation-based interventions and approaches developed from training materials and individual/family successes.
  • Provide 24/7 coverage for all assigned individuals served and/or families.
  • Make referrals to services and resources on behalf of individuals and/or families served.
  • Ensure documentation and records are kept confidential, organized, and submitted to supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in team meetings with peers and collateral team meetings when needed.
  • Support peer development by addressing areas of concern for professional development and team performance issues.
  • Provide an aftercare plan for each family/individual served.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners from referring/collateral agencies.
  • Guide the family in their interaction with referring agencies and other community organizations as needed.
