As our Family Caseworker – Adoptions , you’ll play a pivotal role in helping children move from uncertainty into permanency. You’ll support prospective adoptive families, walk alongside them through the home study and placement process, and collaborate with our state and county partners to ensure every child is matched with a family who will walk with them for life. Your work directly shapes a child’s future—and strengthens the broader fabric of resilience in our communities.   • Family Licensing & Support
  • Provide regular supervision and support to foster/adoptive parents to ensure high-quality care
  • Share educational resources and coach families on meeting children's developmental and educational needs
  • Complete licensing evaluations, quarterly visits, and annual assessments
  • Conduct required home visits following state licensing regulations
  • Support recruitment, training, and education of prospective adoptive families
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for crisis consultation
  • Collect and review outcome data relevant to licensing and adoption work
  • Adoption Services
  • Recruit and retain adoptive families through outreach, events, information nights, and community partnerships
  • Complete home studies, assessments, and written Pre-placement Assessments
  • Prepare children and families for adoption, identifying strengths, challenges, and support needs
  • Provide excellent customer service to prospective families—by phone, email, and in person
  • Offer pre- and post-adoption support to prevent disruption and promote permanency
  • Promote Crossnore’s adoption program across the region
  • Network with DSS and other agencies to present families for matching opportunities
  • Coordinate presentations, visits, placement activities, and post-placement support
  • Maintain compliant and up-to-date documentation for all adoptive and pre-adoptive families
  • Assist with reports, statistics, policies, procedures, and workflow improvements
  • Monitor adoption-related expenses and revenue
  • Attend statewide and regional adoption-focused meetings
  • Case Management
  • Provide thorough case management ensuring children’s needs are met
  • Develop person-centered plans, crisis plans, and service plans
  • Lead monthly Child & Family Team meetings
  • Attend staffings and clinical meetings to coordinate treatment
  • Supervise individualized therapeutic interventions
  • Provide monthly client contacts as required
  • Advocate for children by coordinating services and treatment planning
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation according to state standards
  • Document supervisory meetings, corrective actions, family visits, training, and evaluations
  • Ensure licensing and personnel file compliance
  • Submit all required authorizations and paperwork on time
  • Maintain electronic records in EHR and Binti
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Build strong working relationships with DSS, providers, and community partners
  • Communicate effectively, respond well to supervision, and work independently
  • Attend required meetings, assessments, and appointments
  • Serve on committees and community workgroups
  • Support public relations and outreach efforts
  • Perform other agency-aligned duties as assigned
  • May involve engagement with clients and/or family members in crisis or exhibiting challenging behaviors requiring calm, trauma-informed responses.
  • Meets requirements for a Qualified Professional which are: Master’s degree in a human services or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year supervised clinical experience working with children and families; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and two years’ experience with the current population; or a Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services field and four years’ experience with the current population.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in working with children and families required
  • Working knowledge of child welfare, foster care, adoption, and mental health systems
  • Strong ability to build trust and maintain relationships with families, DSS partners, and community agencies
  • Discretion, independent decision-making, and ethical judgement
  • Crisis response skills and comfort supporting families through emotionally complex situations
  • Cultural humility and the ability to work with individuals of all identities and backgrounds
  • Exceptional communication—written, verbal, and interpersonal
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and client data systems
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation according to state standards
  • Comfort with public speaking, marketing, and representing Crossnore at community events
  • Creative thinking, flexibility, and a sense of humor
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and ongoing professional development
  • Prior foster care licensing and case management experience preferred
  • Prior adoptions experience preferred
