About The Position

Action Behavior Centers, a leading behavioral health organization for children with autism based out of Austin, Texas, is seeking a professional, energetic, organized, and driven advocate to join their team in a teammate and client family focused role. This role involves supporting and collaborating with teammates and leaders in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy world. The Family Advocate will act as a liaison between the organization and the parents/guardians of patients to drive internal communication, ongoing support, and Autism advocacy. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for helping and supporting children, and a strong knowledge of resources available to families with children diagnosed with autism.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
1+ years of community engagement or relations experience (if Bachelor's is in Public Relations, Operations or Business, Human Resources, Social Work or related field)
Strong familiarity with the resources available to families with children diagnosed with autism and the ABA services that Action Behavior Centers provides.
Ability to travel within designated regions and across regions as required.
Travel requirement of two to three weeks at a time during campaign surges.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred in Public Relations, Operations or Business, Human Resources, Social Work or related field.
Ability to speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

Serve as a point of contact between our organization and families with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, fostering and maintaining relationships with the families that we serve or have served.
Develop relationships with community organizations and schools to promote an understanding and commitment to ABC’s mission to provide excellent quality therapy to children in need.
Conduct outreach to parents and raise awareness of Action Behavior Center’s mission, values and expertise in providing ABA therapy services.
Organize events and workshops for families of children diagnosed with autism to inform them of ABC’s services and other resources available to them.
Serve as an advocate for families of children diagnosed with autism, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.
Gather information and testimonials; provide process improvement activities related to increasing and maintaining family and parent success, commitment and satisfaction.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
