About The Position

What it's like to be a Family Advocate at the resource connection As a Family Advocate at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, Inc., you will play a vital role in engaging families enrolled in our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Your responsibilities will include completing enrollment packets, supporting parents in their children's growth and development, enhancing parental education, and providing essential family support. You will connect families with community resources, ensuring they have the tools they need for success. Under the supervision of the Family Services Manager, you will focus on parent engagement and ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance) in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards. The ability to think critically and act independently is crucial, as you will maintain positive connections with both families and county resources, making you an essential advocate for the families we serve.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Must obtain within 18 months of hire at a minimum a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field
  • One-year work experience in social services field serving low-income families
  • Health Screening
  • Proof of current negative TB test
  • Immunizations required by Community Care Licensing ( measles, pertussis/Dtap and current influenza shot)
  • Valid California Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance coverage

Nice To Haves

  • Some college coursework is preferred in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and/or social work
