About The Position

Overview Interviews clients to access and determine needs; develops short and long range goals to promote self-sufficiency plan/work with Internal and External agencies to develop immediate and long-range plans for clients and develop and carry out policies and procedures of the program and organization. Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in social work or related field; no substitutions. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional six months experience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have good computer skills for database software. Ability to communicate in Cherokee would be a tremendous asset for a family advocate. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Must have a personal vehicle available at all times to perform the work required by the position. Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers; or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
