About The Position

The Family Advocate I interviews clients to access and determine their needs. This role involves developing short and long-range goals to promote self-sufficiency plans. The advocate will work with internal and external agencies to create immediate and long-range plans for clients, and will also be responsible for developing and carrying out policies and procedures for the program and organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in social work or related field; no substitutions
• An additional six months experience in a related field
• Knowledge of Database software, Internet software and Word Processing software
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
• Must have a personal vehicle available at all times to perform the work required by the position
• Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers; or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
