About The Position
This position is located at 20th Fighter Wing (ACC), 20th Medical Group, Family Advocacy, Shaw AFB, South Carolina. Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM) To provide professional clinical social work or marriage and family therapy services in support of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). As the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM), designs, develops, maintains, implements, and evaluates clinical services for installation FAP. Serves as an installation clinical subject matter expert (SME) providing consultation to installation leadership and medical professionals regarding needs assessment, determining clinical intervention requirements, and developing implementation strategies. Performs case management, risk and clinical assessments, and crisis intervention to prevent and treat child maltreatment and spouse/intimate partner abuse serving beneficiaries scattered over a large geographical area. The 20th Medical Group provides ambulatory medical and dental services to the 20th Fighter Wing, Headquarters 9th Air Force (U.S. Air Force Central) and associate units. It is an outpatient clinic with 24-hour ambulance transport service. Direct outpatient care is provided for pediatrics to geriatric clients in an ambulatory setting. Patients represent all eligible beneficiaries: active duty and their family members, retirees and their family members and secretary designees.The medical group provides the following patient care services: Family Practice, Aeromedical Services, Pediatrics, Limited Gynecological Services, Immunizations, General Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Optometry, Life Skills, Substance Abuse, Family Advocacy, Radiology, Laboratory and Pharmacy.
Requirements
- US Citizenship Required
- Must possess a current, unrestricted (LCSW) or (LMFT) license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates all clinical services for the installation's Family Advocacy Program (FAP).
- Serves as the installation's FAP clinical Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing consultation to leadership and medical professionals on clinical needs, intervention strategies, and implementation.
- Develops and implements a formal evaluation process to monitor clinical services and adjust delivery to maximize therapeutic impact.
- Participates in and conducts peer reviews of clinical providers to ensure adherence to Air Force Medical Quality Operations guidelines.
- Independently conducts comprehensive risk assessments, clinical interviews, and psychosocial evaluations for children and adults to determine the underlying causes of presenting problems.
- Manages all case activities, including intake, triage, safety planning, and the development of tailored treatment plans and goals.
- Provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy, selecting appropriate treatment modalities for a wide range of complex behavioral and mental health disorders, including dual diagnoses (e.g., PTSD, substance abuse).
- Utilizes a variety of professional instruments and techniques to assess client needs, risk levels, and the potential for lethality.
- Acts as the key facilitator for FAP clinical services, coordinating with military and civilian partners (e.g., chain of command, Office of Special Investigations, Judge Advocate, Child Protective Services) to ensure continuity of care.
- Notifies appropriate military and civilian authorities of all maltreatment referrals.
- Provides expert determinations and recommendations for protection orders to ensure victim safety.
- Testifies as an expert witness on matters of psychosocial dysfunction in military and civil court proceedings.
- Provides professional advisory services and training to healthcare professionals, leadership, and legal/investigative agencies to enhance resiliency and decrease maltreatment.
- Delivers child maltreatment and partner abuse prevention education to the military community.
- Presents complex cases, treatment recommendations, and prognostic impressions as a member of the Clinical Case Staffing (CCS) team.
- Supports the New Parent Support Program (NPSP) by providing home-based clinical interventions and developing Family Service Plans (FSPs).
