Lead the coverage of faith and religion at one of the southwest’s largest news outlets. Dallas-Fort Worth is a faith-forward region and the faith beat stretches across every community. Faith — personal conviction, community stewardship, church affiliation, trust, religious values, the value of life, etc. — is complex and requires more than covering "religion.” Our goals are to cover faith in ways that reflect how people and communities actualize their beliefs. What will you do? Develop and expand your reporting expertise in faith and religion while building a robust source list of experts, leaders and community members. Excel at building relationships and trust in a community with innumerable entry points. Be comfortable in charging hard on breaking news, while finding time to dig into enterprise and features about remarkable faith leaders in our community. Cover breaking news, crime and courts, which are a surprisingly big part of this beat, with abuse, lawsuits and wayward clergy. Immerse yourself in North Texas’ diverse faith communities and large churches, synagogues, mosques and other places of worship, examining the latest trends, success stories and challenges that these communities face. Help build community trust through events, listening sessions and pop-up newsrooms across North Texas. What will it take to be successful?
