Who We're Looking For: TSMC Washington Failure Analysis Lab is recruiting for a highly motivated individual to sustain the failure analysis operation in a fast-paced environment. As a Failure Analysis Technician, you will prepare and analyze samples from silicon wafers at various stages of completion to support fab operations. This involves generating data for engineering team to monitor the performance of fab tools, identifying the root causes of quality issues, making informed decisions on material disposition, and evaluating proposed fab changes. Additionally, you will be working with various analytic tools in the lab. To excel in this role, you must possess strong debugging skills, be an excellent team player, can multitask, and pay attention to details. Furthermore, you must be adaptable and willing to work on any shift within a condensed 12-hour shift configuration.

Requirements

  • An associate degree or equivalent in science/engineering is required.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with or without a reasonable accommodation. Regular attendance and reliability for this position is critical.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for a 12-hour shift & capable of lifting 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Detail oriented and follow safety rules.
  • Highly self-motivated and flexible in working hours and duties.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS windows system, office software and application software on FA tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, and able to handle multiple tasks in high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with failure analysis and fab engineers, work on individual cases, and supply technical reports of analysis.
  • Operation of scanning electron microscope, focused ion beam, optical microscopes, and other small equipment.
  • Handle wire bonding, conduct electrical measurements to verify device parameters, and use an emission microscope to isolate failure sites
  • Perform failure analysis on tool monitors to measure structure critical dimensions, prepare the samples by chemical and mechanical means or use different analytic tools to find evidence of failure.
  • Perform tools' PMs, calibration, or repair. Maintain 6S cleanliness for the lab, manage inventory, and ensure discipline of wafer scrap through the system.
  • Work with chemicals in a hooded environment
