Failure Analysis Engineer

About the position

Onsemi's semiconductor fabrication facility in Syracuse, NY is looking for a Failure Analysis Engineer to join the team. Our technology enables the next generation of power conversion, accelerating the transition to high efficiency, high power conversion solutions and inspiring new power system architectures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct failure analysis on semiconductor devices and components to identify root causes of failures
• Develop and implement failure analysis procedures and protocols
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality to resolve failure issues
• Analyze failure data and trends to identify areas for process improvements
• Develop and maintain failure analysis reports and presentations
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in failure analysis techniques

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. electrical engineering, materials science, physics)
• 3+ years of experience in failure analysis or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with failure analysis tools and techniques (e.g. SEM, EDS, XRD)
• Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and materials
