As a Failure Analysis Engineering Intern here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to cutting-edge projects. You will work closely with our team of experienced engineers and professionals, learning from their expertise and applying your knowledge to real-world challenges. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into the industry and help you develop essential skills for your future career in mechanical engineering.

  • Inspect, test, and deconstruct electronic components (e.g. resistors, capacitors, inductors, relays, microcircuits, etc.)
  • Be a part of the Failure Analysis Lab (FAL) responsible for materials testing (e.g. FTIR, epoxy testing, prohibited materials analysis, etc.)
  • Work hands-on in a lab environment
  • Collaborate/Interact with other members of the team
  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Materials and Chemical Engineering or similar field
  • Must graduate in December 2025 or later
  • Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
  • Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher)
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
  • Interest in semiconductor field. Knowledge of semiconductor materials and fabrication a plus
  • Interest in the process of failure investigation and pursuing root cause of failure
  • Electrical test experience is a plus (e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters, curve tracers, function generators, power supplies, etc.)
  • Experience with x-ray and/or SEM is a plus
  • Word/PowerPoint experience with lab reports is a plus
  • Desire to live in Glendale, AZ long-term after graduation
