About The Position

Are you looking to join a world-class real-life CSI style laboratory? If so, this is the team for you! In this position you will work with cross-disciplinary engineering teams and suppliers to perform Root Cause analysis, resolve workmanship issues, implement corrective actions, and tell the analysis story through reports and presentations. You will perform hands-on physical analysis of a variety of hardware technologies including semiconductors, electrical components, circuit card assemblies, mechanical assemblies, and related materials. You will be responsible for handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting customer deadlines. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, team player, able to pro-actively communicate with all employees in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of the construction, packaging, and use of electronic components is a plus; including microcircuits, discrete semiconductors, passive electronic and electromechanical components, mechanical parts, and materials. Exposure to military and IPC standards will help you succeed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallography, Engineering, Physics or Master's Degree in same fields.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment.
  • Chemical handling and safety knowledge.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to break down problems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use fundamental failure analysis methodology to derive root cause of electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to use non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and destructive physical analysis (DPA) techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and related probes.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate electrical laboratory equipment.
  • Exposure to IPC-6012 and IPC TM-650.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
