About The Position

Concordia is a Lutheran higher education community committed to helping students develop in mind, body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world. Position Summary Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Theology on the Mequon, WI campus. This position is in the Department of Theology and in the School of Arts and Sciences, with an anticipated start date of January 2026.

Requirements

• Status as an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or of a sister synod in fellowship with the LCMS
• A completed or nearly completed doctorate in exegetical theology
• Excellent teaching ability in a wide range of theological courses
• Ability to work well with colleagues
• Ability to work effectively with students of different ages and from other countries and religions.

Responsibilities

• Teaching responsibilities are primarily in the area of New Testament, which may include courses such as The Bible, New Testament, New Testament electives, and Biblical Theology, among other courses as needed for the programs of the department.
• Advising students
• Curriculum development, revision, and assessment
• Service on committees within the department, school, and university
• Peer-reviewed scholarship
• All CUW faculty members hold 12-month contracts and teach in fall, spring, and summer semesters as assigned.
