About The Position
The University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our Social Science Department as an Adjunct Faculty member in Sociology. This position is integral to the educational mission of the college, which aims to provide high-quality education and support to our diverse student body. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing course materials, assignments, and assessments that align with the learning outcomes of the courses taught. This role requires a commitment to maintaining accurate student records and timely submission of syllabi, roster certifications, grades, and assessment reports. The faculty member will also be expected to adhere to institutional and departmental policies regarding all course and college procedures. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff. This includes timely communication and engagement in non-instructional activities such as professional development, student advising, and participation in committee work and departmental meetings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to utilize contemporary educational techniques and technologies to enhance the learning experience for students. Participation in training sessions and other professional development opportunities is also expected, as is the ability to perform all other duties as assigned associated with a full-time visiting instructor position.
