About The Position

El Camino College is seeking a part-time, temporary faculty member to join its Radiologic Technology Instructional team. This role involves teaching classes in Radiologic Technology, evaluating student clinical experiences, and maintaining student clinical records. Faculty will also assist with accreditation documentation and curriculum revision, while participating in campus activities and fostering collaborations with industry partners to enhance student outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and two years full-time experience in the discipline; OR Associate's degree and six years full-time experience in the discipline; OR equivalent qualifications.
• Certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (AART) and the California State Department of Health Services (CRT).
• A minimum of two years of experience as a practitioner in an acute care facility.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred.
• Three years of experience in the field of Diagnostic Radiologic Technology.
• Experience with students in a clinical environment.
• Clinical and educational experience with digital radiography and special imaging technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in culturally responsive methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Teach appropriate classes in Radiologic Technology to help students qualify for State and National Certification.
• Evaluate student clinical experiences and maintain student clinical records.
• Serve as a liaison between the college and clinical affiliates.
• Assist in arranging laboratory experiences and observe student performance in both college and clinical settings.
• Participate in accreditation documentation and curriculum revision.
• Engage in ongoing quality control tasks for Digital Radiography and PACS equipment in the imaging labs.
• Participate in campus and division activities such as department meetings and student activities.
• Foster collaborations with employers and industry groups to support Guided Pathway initiatives.

• Part-time faculty are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the district.
