About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Academic Hematopathologist to join the Department of Pathology, Division of Hematopathology in the Section of Laboratory Medicine. This position offers opportunities for administrative leadership, depending on experience, and involves providing diagnostic hematopathology services covering bone marrow, tissue services (lymph node/spleen, etc.), pediatric cases (bone marrow and tissue), flow cytometry, and general hematology services. The successful candidate will actively participate in divisional educational activities and pursue clinical/translational investigations, as well as laboratory-based investigations and entrepreneurial efforts supported by prior accomplishments.

Requirements

• Must have an MD or DO with board certification in Hematopathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required.
• Experience in a large hospital-based hematopathology service.
• Experience in molecular hematopathology is beneficial.
• Proven track record in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic hematopathology service covering bone marrow and tissue services.
• Cover pediatric cases including bone marrow and tissue.
• Conduct flow cytometry and general hematology services.
• Participate in divisional educational activities.
• Engage in clinical/translational investigations.
• Conduct laboratory-based investigations and entrepreneurial efforts.
