About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Division Director for the Academic Hematopathologist position within the Department of Pathology, Division of Hematopathology. This role involves administrative, educational, and academic leadership of a team of 10 hematopathologists, as well as participation in departmental leadership activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic hematopathology services, including bone marrow, lymph node, pediatric, flow cytometry, and general hematology services for a centralized service that serves multiple hospitals. The position also requires active management and participation in divisional educational activities and the pursuit of nationally recognized basic, clinical, or translational investigations that have garnered external funding and interactions with national and international academic and industry entities.

Requirements

  • Must have an M.D. with board certification in Hematopathology.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required.
  • Experience in a large hospital-based hematopathology service.
  • Experience in molecular hematopathology is beneficial.
  • Proven academic track record.
