About The Position

Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP), Department of Community Health Services and Rehabilitation Science, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. This position is Part-Time, approximately one day per week. CONTENT AREA: Applicants with a focus on laboratory instruction in the Chiropractic Sciences courses of the DCP curriculum. The position additionally involves hands-on instruction related to the diagnosis and management of spinal and extraspinal disorders prevalent in contemporary chiropractic practice. Instruction is aimed at assisting the primary course lead instructor with developing the knowledge, skills, clinical reasoning, and professionalism necessary for graduating students to function as an evidence-based, primary musculoskeletal practitioners in different clinical settings. Position Rank/Classification: The position is open at the Adjunct Assistant Professor rank. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Chiropractic degree program.
  • Relevant practice experience within the last 5 years.
  • Active Pennsylvania DC license.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior participation in continuing education courses hosted by the University of Pittsburgh's Doctor of Chiropractic Program, reflecting alignment with the program's clinical and educational approaches.
  • Clinical practice experience as a chiropractor in an interdisciplinary medical setting.
  • Supervisory teaching experience with chiropractic students/clerkships in an interprofessional clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of Council on Chiropractic Education accreditation standards.
  • Completion of chiropractic residency training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the hands-on instruction of the diagnosis and management of spinal and extraspinal disorders prevalent in contemporary chiropractic practice in both lecture and/or laboratory settings.
  • Stimulate student participation in learning activities.
  • Assist in administering and evaluating student laboratory examinations for the purposes of assigning student grades.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
