The School of Computing and Analytics (SCA) at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) invites applications for one full-time faculty position in Cybersecurity and Information Technology at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice / Teaching Professor (non-tenure track), beginning August 2026. Salary and benefits are competitive. We seek candidates with teaching and/or research expertise in one or more of the following areas: Cybersecurity and Information Technology (IT). Areas of interest include (but are not limited to): mobile and cloud security, cloud administration, web security, network security, network administration, digital forensics, software security, ethical hacking, threat modeling and incident response, risk analysis, system administration, and data/information privacy. The position will primarily contribute to our B.S. and M.S. programs in Cybersecurity and IT, with potential contributions to other programs such as Computer Science and Applied Software Engineering. NKU has been designated a National Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, making it the only CAE in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati region with both undergraduate and graduate cybersecurity programs and the only institution in Kentucky to host an NSA/NSF GenCyber grant program. Each fall, NKU hosts its Cybersecurity Symposium, a signature event that draws broad participation from the regional community, while the university's CyberDefense student team has achieved success in regional and national competitions, creating valuable opportunities for faculty to mentor and collaborate with an energetic and growing student population.
