About The Position

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (www.gordonconwell.edu) Charlotte announces a tenure-track faculty position in Counseling (MACC) beginning in the fall of 2026. The position involves online and in-person teaching responsibilities in a CACREP-accredited M.A. in Counseling program on the campus in Charlotte, NC. Please note that this position requires regular, in-person engagement on the Charlotte campus. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D in Counselor Education and Supervision.
  • Graduate level coursework in theology or Biblical studies.
  • Experience as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program prior to 2013.
  • Evidence of a strong counselor identity.
  • Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in conducting professional counseling.
  • Demonstrated competence in both online and in-person teaching modalities.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues from various ecclesial traditions.

Responsibilities

  • Teach six courses per year (counseling core or clinical supervision) in both online and in-person modalities.
  • Maintain an active agenda of research/scholarship.
  • Supervise counselor trainees.
  • Engage in scholarly participation through academic publications and presentations at professional counseling meetings.
