About The Position

The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center ( UNMC ) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-leading faculty position in the division of Anatomic Pathology with board certification/eligibility in Cytopathology. The successful candidate should possess strong diagnostic skills in cytopathology and will have the opportunity to participate in rapid on-site evaluation as well as ultrasound-guided superficial fine needle aspiration procedures. Coverage of another subspecialty is an option. Educational opportunities include teaching within the medical school and within an ACGME -accredited AP/CP residency program. Opportunities for developing research projects are available. Candidates interested in developing a funded research program are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree, and they should be certified or eligible for certification in AP or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology. Fellowship training in cytopathology is preferred. Requirements

  • M.D., M.D./Ph.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree
  • Certified or eligible for certification in AP or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology
  • Board certification/eligibility in Cytopathology
  • Strong diagnostic skills in cytopathology
