Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate coursework in accounting and other business courses.
• Transfer knowledge including theory, practical skills, methods and techniques in accounting.
• Challenge student thinking, foster debate, and develop critical discourse skills.
• Participate in general faculty roles including advising and committee service.
• Engage in decision-making and governance within the department and university.
• Exercise academic leadership in curriculum design and development.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum implementation and program improvement.
• Assist in the development of new initiatives and delivery systems.
• Facilitate continuing accreditation through professional development and program review processes.
• Build relationships with local businesses and employers to strengthen community ties.
• Mentor students through advising and faculty interaction.
• Identify risks within the department and discuss risk reduction options.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Accounting (PhD/DBA preferred) or a Master's in Accountancy or Taxation.
• Current CPA or CMA licensure.
• Documented high level of teaching competencies with a minimum of two years of undergraduate level teaching experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience with hyflex and/or online delivery methods preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Canvas learning management system or equivalent.
