The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and UMPhysicians is recruiting a movement disorders physician to lead the Movement Disorders Division within M Health Fairview (University of Minnesota Physicians/Fairview Health Services Partnership). The Movement Disorders Division is a highly acclaimed multidisciplinary academic program with physicians, physician scientists and scientists working together to translate preclinical/clinical research to world class care. Highly qualified candidates who are committed to excellence in patient care, possess strong clinical skills and who have experience or an interest in preclinical and/or clinical investigation are encouraged to apply. Practice Details: As part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position will provide outpatient movement disorders neurology services on the University campus and community locations. Opportunity to work with leaders in the field of deep brain stimulation for movement disorders. Opportunity to work with the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, a world class imaging center. Opportunity to collaborate with innovative neuroscience physicians and researchers on preclinical and clinical research, and multiple other academic activities.   • Provide outpatient movement disorders neurology services on the University campus and community locations.
  • Work with leaders in the field of deep brain stimulation for movement disorders.
  • Work with the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, a world class imaging center.
  • Collaborate with innovative neuroscience physicians and researchers on preclinical and clinical research, and multiple other academic activities.
  • Supervise and train medical students, residents and movement disorders fellows.
  • Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency training program and Board Certified or Board Prepared with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association.
  • Completion of a movement disorders fellowship or equivalent work experience.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
  • Ability to obtain and / or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing deep brain stimulation patients

  • This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota.
  • Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
