The music faculty at Concordia University Irvine is seeking a full-time professor to bring unique expertise to an exemplary, large music department within a small, close-knit Christian university. We have the largest opportunities in the following areas: Commercial Music (ensemble leader, music production classes, songwriting, music business) Music core classes (various theory, aural skills, and/or history classes) Choral Music (choral conductor, choral methods) Jazz (ensemble director, improvisation) Composition (orchestral, church, digital media, games, screen) Music Department administration Candidates must also be able to promote the mission, purpose, and objectives of Concordia University Irvine with a clear commitment to integrating their Christian faith into their teaching, relationships with students and colleagues, and engagement with prospective students and families. This is a full-time, in-person faculty position with rank and salary commensurate with credentials and experience. Review of application materials begins March 16 and continues until the position is funded and filled. Role: The position is a full-time, in-person faculty position that will require being on the Irvine Turtle Rock campus 4-5 days per week and comes with full rights as a full-time faculty member. The faculty will be expected to teach courses in the Music Department as assigned. They will be expected to support music events in person, as well as other programs on campus, including convocations and other requirements of full-time faculty with respect to service to the institution, the academy, as well as the church and community.
