About the position

California State University, East Bay is seeking a Lecturer to teach coursework in various areas including Multimedia Journalism, Media Production, Photojournalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Communication Organizational Studies, Media Studies, Research Methods, Rhetoric, Argumentation, Public Speaking, and Interpersonal Communication. Teaching assignments may occur at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. Faculty members are expected to perform all duties within the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in specified areas of communication and media studies.
• Develop course syllabi and assignments.
• Provide evidence of scholarship, creative work, or teaching through peer-review of teaching, student-faculty evaluations, and samples of student work.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant area of specialization (Ph.D. preferred).
• Experience in producing documentaries, media in other countries, and/or media for social justice is preferred.
• Ability to provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarship.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Photojournalism and Media Production coursework.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity in teaching and learning.
