About The Position

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine in Tyler, TX, is seeking a skilled, BE/BC Infectious Disease physician to join its established, growing Division of Infectious Disease faculty team that is helping to shape the future of medical education and clinical care in East Texas. Join a collegial team of 4 physicians, 4 APPs, and an experienced support staff. Full-Time Employment. Faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be appointed to the successful applicant commensurate with their professional experience and qualifications. Based on interest, candidates also could develop one or more programs in the following areas: clinical operations, outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy, infection prevention and control, antibiotic stewardship, HIV medicine, telehealth, medical education/training of medical students, residents and fellows, NTM clinic and TB public health. Enjoy working in the inpatient setting at 502-bed, Level I Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center- UT Health Tyler- a nationally-recognized "A" Safety-rated facility (The Leapfrog Group, Fall 2024). Work in the outpatient setting at UT Health Tyler North Campus. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p. Typical schedule of inpatient service in the morning with outpatient clinic starting at 10 a.m. Epic EMR.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Infectious Disease.
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in telehealth and outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy.
  • Interest in developing programs in infection prevention and control and antibiotic stewardship.
