About The Position

Requirements

  • Industrial Engineering Technology background, including manufacturing systems and product design.
  • Ability to teach courses in Mechanical Technology and some courses in the Robotics and Automation program.

  • Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and problem solve.
  • Evidence of proficiency with technology and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and provide students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subjects.
  • Demonstrate and maintain current subject area knowledge.
  • Develop and teach online content.
  • Encourage students' participation in class activities.
  • Identify learning objectives and evaluate student performance based on objectives.
  • Teach multiple courses/sections each term as outlined by the contract.
  • Prepare lesson plans and create instructional materials and activities for student engagement in both lectures and labs.
  • Establish and maintain an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
  • Provide students with assistance and guidance regarding their educational program and appropriate conduct.
  • Submit all required paperwork/information in a timely manner.
  • Participate in MET program recruiting events.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other records according to department and College guidelines.
  • Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines to support student learning.
  • Advise students concerning academic, career, and related issues according to contractual guidelines.
  • Assist department with student recruitment, enrollment, and placement.
  • Assist department with student retention and completion initiatives.
  • Assist with development, review, and revision of department curriculum, including assessment of student learning and program review.
  • Develop innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learning.
  • Incorporate high-impact teaching practices into course design.
  • Attend department meetings as a contributing member.
  • Contribute to the College through Division, department, and College committees.
  • Engage in pedagogical and academic discipline professional development.
  • Assist department in faculty recruitment and peer evaluation.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals and implementation of grant projects.
  • Work independently and in a team setting, demonstrating excellent time management skills.
