About The Position

The Education Instructor at Sinte Gleska University is responsible for teaching various education courses and advising education majors. This full-time position involves implementing departmental frameworks, fulfilling strategic plans, and ensuring continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness under the supervision of the Education Department Chair.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Education or a related field.
• Experience in teaching at the college level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.

Nice To Haves

• PhD in Education or a related field.
• Experience with online teaching platforms.
• Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Teach a minimum of 8 courses per academic year in areas such as teaching methods, educational psychology, and classroom management.
• Design, prepare, instruct, and supervise classroom activities, both in-person and online.
• Assess student performance through the preparation, administration, grading, and evaluation of tests, papers, and examinations, and report grades.
• Hold weekly office hours to meet with students in an online or in-person format.
• Advise students on course selection, monitor academic progress, and provide mentorship.
• Participate in faculty meetings and committees, update curriculum, and provide service to the department and university.
• Stay current and professionally engaged in the area of expertise.
• Engage with SGU functions such as departmental responsibilities and committee assignments.
• Assist in curriculum design for the Education Department.
• Utilize innovative and culturally responsive pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning experiences.
• Input into the selection and procurement of textbooks.
