About The Position

St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in economics and quantitative methods at its Mount Mercy campus in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This appointment will carry either tenure-track or professional faculty status depending on the credentials, experience, and priorities of the candidate. The anticipated rank of the appointment is at the assistant professor level (although candidates with more extensive experience may be appointed at a higher rank). Candidates should have some combination of knowledge, expertise and experience in economics and quantitative methods. Start date is August 17, 2026. Candidates should be prepared to teach lower-level courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and quantitative methods for all business students. St. Ambrose University does not offer majors in economics and quantitative methods. Candidates should be willing to teach online, hybrid, and traditional seated courses (with appropriate support from the University); be a learner-centered educator; have an appropriate program for their ongoing professional development; be willing to serve as an academic advisor; and to serve on various department, faculty, and university committees. For candidates pursuing an appointment with tenure-track status, preferred qualifications include a doctorate (ABD considered) in economics or closely related field. For candidates pursuing an appointment with Professional Faculty status, a master's degree in economics or a closely related field, undergraduate teaching experience, and related professional experience is preferred.
