About The Position

We are seeking a candidate with strong experience in concrete properties and testing. The role involves teaching students how to evaluate concrete as a critical building material to ensure its performance, safety, and long‑term durability. Ideal experience includes assessing strength, abrasion resistance, permeability, and overall durability, as well as understanding how different material compositions influence concrete behavior across various applications. This person will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in Building Construction courses.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree In Construction Technology, Concrete Science, OR, combination of education and work experience that qualifies the individual to perform the functions of the position.
• Valid and in State Valid Driver's License.
• Four (4) years trade experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
• Developed organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree In Construction Technology or related discipline.
• Formal coursework in Education.
• Teaching experience at the high school, trade, or college level.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students in theory and lab courses in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, masonry, concrete, materials, interior and exterior finishing, Associate-degree level estimating and management courses.
• Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
• Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects.
• Supervise students in laboratory clean-up activities.
• Complete official student rosters and return to School office as required.
• Comply with College safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies.
• Assume responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance.
• Maintain office hours according to part-time agreement.
• Attend School/Department meetings as requested
