The Wyss Institute at Harvard University is seeking a Faculty Assistant to support the Core Faculty Member, Dr. Peng Yin, and his research team. The Wyss Institute's mission is to transform healthcare and the environment by emulating the way nature builds, and this role is integral to that mission. As a Faculty Assistant, you will be part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team dedicated to creating breakthrough technologies that improve human health. This position requires a collaborative, impact-focused problem solver who is passionate about science and excited to contribute to innovative research. You will provide comprehensive administrative support, ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including research, writing, and editing support for grant proposals, research reports, and other documents. You will assist with library and journal literature research, summarize findings, and contribute to the preparation of patent and business development materials. Additionally, you will handle grant, budgetary, and financial support, processing expense reports and reimbursements, and working with the internal team to support grant submissions. You will also play a key role in public and internal relations by drafting and preparing presentation materials, maintaining the laboratory website, and serving as the primary administrative contact for the Core Faculty Member and team. Your responsibilities will include employee onboarding and engagement, maintaining electronic and paper files, and providing operational support such as ordering supplies and coordinating lab meetings. Furthermore, you will manage the calendar, coordinate travel, and organize lab events and symposiums, ensuring that all activities align with the Wyss Institute's community values of courage, collaboration, innovation, impact, diversity, and respect.
