About The Position

The Faculty Affairs Coordinator at the Schaefer School of Engineering and Science (SES) plays a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions related to faculty affairs. Under the supervision of the SES Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs, this position is responsible for coordinating various routine functions that are essential to the faculty's operational success. This includes managing the appointment and reappointment processes for academic associate positions, overseeing the external academic unit review process for SES departments, and organizing meetings for various groups and programs such as the SES Faculty Advisory Council and the LAUNCH Program. In addition to these responsibilities, the Faculty Affairs Coordinator will assist the Assistant Dean in organizing the annual New Faculty Orientation and bi-annual SES Faculty Meetings. The role also involves monitoring faculty and lecturer contracts to ensure timely applications for Promotion and Tenure (P&T) and reappointments. The Coordinator will support the new faculty hiring process by processing job requisitions through Workday and will oversee the nomination and submission processes for various faculty honors and awards. This position requires a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and projects, ensuring that all faculty-related matters are handled with confidentiality and professionalism. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. They will be expected to work independently while also being a collaborative team member, maintaining a positive attitude and flexibility in their work.
