The Instructor for Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology (AART) and Industrial Technology (INDT) is responsible for providing quality and engaging instruction across various delivery methods within specific academic programs. The instructor will offer timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding their mastery of course and program learning outcomes, engage students outside of class to support the curriculum and co-curriculum, and participate in institutional support and community service. The role also involves contributing to student retention and completion initiatives while aligning with the College's mission and strategic plan.

  • Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials.
  • Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation.
  • Manage a classroom environment conducive to student learning.
  • Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes.
  • Use Learning Management System (e.g. Blackboard) for teaching and communication.
  • Provide academic-related coaching and monitoring to assigned student advisees.
  • Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester.
  • Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours.
  • Promote and assist in student recruitment, retention, and successful completion of programs.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Engage in scholarly activities related to the discipline.
  • Stay current in contemporary pedagogy and digital technology.
  • Participate in community service activities on behalf of the college.
  • Develop community/industry/business contacts.
  • Provide institutional support as requested by college administration.
  • Attend commencement and participate in assigned activities.
  • Participate in college/regional/campus-wide meetings.
  • Support program/department chair in program management activities.
  • Adhere to college and regional academic policies.
  • Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, or engineering technology.
  • Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught.
  • Two years of directly related work experience linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
  • OR an earned baccalaureate or higher degree and five years of directly related work experience.
  • OR an earned associate or higher degree directly related to the program's discipline and three years of directly related work experience.
  • Selected candidate will be subject to pre-employment background checks.
  • Experience with teaching topics including Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, Fluid Power, PLC's, Robotics, Vision Systems, HMI's, and VFD's.
