About The Position

North Park University is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor for the course CSIS 1010, which focuses on IT hardware and software in computing and communication devices, preparing students for the CompTIA ITF + Certificate Exam. The adjunct faculty will be contracted on a term-by-term basis, with no guarantee of continuous employment. The instructor will be responsible for teaching a diverse student population and must adhere to the course schedule as determined by the academic department. Flexibility in course timing may be available in some instances.

Requirements

• Experience in teaching IT-related courses.
• Familiarity with Canvas LMS and online teaching tools.
• Ability to engage with a diverse student population.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CompTIA ITF + Certificate Exam preparation.
• Previous experience in higher education teaching.

Responsibilities

• Instruction of CSIS 1010 course.
• Utilize the NP syllabus template, approved textbooks, and supplemental course materials.
• Submit personalized course syllabus to the dean in electronic format one week prior to course start date.
• Adhere to printed course schedule meeting times and locations.
• Be available to students outside of class by email and by appointment as needed.
• Ensure that all assessments within the course are graded and returned to students promptly.
• Submit mid-term grades for traditional undergraduate classes.
• Complete final grades and all course obligations by the due date published by the Registrar each term.
• Document attendance records and the last date of student participation in academically related activities.
