Requirements

  • Associate of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • 5 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist.
  • Current Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant /Physical Therapist.
  • Currently practicing in a clinical environment.
  • Successful candidates are required to reside in Idaho by the first day of work for the College of Western Idaho.
  • Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) courses in alignment with CWI catalog descriptions and program standards.
  • Apply effective teaching methods that promote student engagement, learning, and success.
  • Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating excellence in physical therapy care and ethical practice.
  • Assess and grade student performance according to established course criteria.
  • Participate in orientation, mentoring, and faculty team meetings to support program cohesion and instructional consistency.
  • Engage in program activities related to course planning, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable program, department, and college policies and regulations.
  • Stay current with developments in physical therapy practice and education through continuing education and professional development.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise to deliver relevant and up-to-date course content.
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and professional practice.
