About The Position

The Global Field Service Technician for LHD & Trucks at Komatsu is a remote position that requires global travel. This role is essential for providing technical support and ensuring customer satisfaction in the underground mining sector. The technician will act as a subject matter expert, assisting with product commissioning, technical training, and advanced support services for customers and distributors worldwide.

Requirements

• Technical certification or diploma in heavy equipment mechanic/fitter or similar.
• Technical certification in electrical technology with certification to work on high voltage.
• 7 years of extensive experience with underground mining equipment, specifically underground LHD & Trucks.
• Ability to work varied shift schedules and travel globally up to 50% of the time.
• Valid passport and ability to work in an underground environment.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to facilitate technical training.
• Flexible, self-motivated, and driven to achieve customer satisfaction goals.
• Superior customer relations and active listening skills.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of the customer industry.

Responsibilities

• Participate in new product introductions and support the commissioning of new products.
• Provide hands-on technical training to customers and service regions on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
• Offer technical support to end users, operators, and regional/dealer service personnel for complex technical issues.
• Assist in compiling accurate data for warranty claims and engineering improvements.
• Create product issue reports and assist operations with field-testing and trials of new products.
• Provide feedback to operations, quality, engineering, and product management teams.
• Champion Komatsu Mining Corp safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Identify and report any unsafe work habits and strive to find safer ways for customers to work with our products.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists as applicable.
