Barfield is more than just a prestigious name in the industry: it is subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering We are looking to hire a dedicated Facility Worker to join our team who will support our Mechanical Department. Founded in 1945, Barfield has six facilities located near airports in Miami (MIA), Phoenix (PHX), Louisville (SDF), Atlanta (ATL), and Doral (MIA), to satisfy the needs of customers operating commercial or regional aircraft in North, Central and South America. Barfield is part of the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) network, a major MRO provider. With a workforce of 14,000, AFI KLM E&M offers technical support for airlines, ranging from airframe maintenance to engine overhaul and repair and supply of components.

Requirements

  • Painting background preferred.
  • Worked with air compressed paint guns.
  • Worked with Lacquer thinner and have respirator certification (able to pass test).
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Data entries in computer system.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb an 8 foot ladder
  • Dexterit y with hand t ools.

Responsibilities

  • Must work with Zinc Chromate, aircraft paints enamel, water base and lacquer.
  • Wear respirator mask when painting
  • Observe all specific safety requirements as explained and required when painting and cleaning.
  • Must be trainable to paint aircraft parts per company standards.
  • Cleaning of aircraft parts per written procedures/CMM or verbal instructions.
  • Weekly check of compressors and storage tanks.
  • Monthly cleaning of back area, in and around the paint area.
  • Keep records of maintenance on HVAC and Compressors.
  • Minor repairs to the facility.
  • Occasional assemblies (shelving, etc)
  • Clean spills
  • Able to schedule repairs of equipment and facility systems and communicate with the vendors.
  • Operate a bead blaster to remove corrosion from the aircraft parts (training provided).
  • Operate a parts cleaner to clean aircraft parts (training provided).
  • Check chemical and shelf life product dates and advise need to reorder.
