About The Position

The Facility Warehouse Manager serves as Kuraray's on-site leader responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective warehouse operation. This newly established role strengthens Kuraray's on-site presence by providing daily oversight and guidance to the contractor while leading the site administration team. The Facility Warehouse Manager ensures compliance with Responsible Care®, HS&E, and applicable standards (including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and GMP) while actively promoting Kuraray's safety and quality culture - Safety is the cornerstone of everything we do. The role oversees warehouse execution (receiving, storage, staging, value-added services, domestic -and export shipping, and shipping documentation compliance), facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs, as well as ensuring data integrity in systems such as SAP and WMS (e.g. Visitrak). The Facility Warehouse Manager is accountable for KPIs, cost transparency, inventory and shipping accuracy, and customer service outcomes, including providing support to other on-site operations.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum seven years of progressive warehouse distribution operations experience
  • Minimum of three years in a supervisory or management role
  • Proficiency in SAP (WM/EWM/SRM or MM modules) and warehouse management systems; experience with TMS and CMMS platforms a plus.
  • Solid understanding of inventory control methodologies, cycle counting, and physical inventory processes.
  • Working knowledge of export documentation, carrier/routing compliance, and freight coordination.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, HS&E management systems, and contractor safety program requirements.
  • Understanding of DOT, IMDG, or IATA regulations for hazardous materials a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to build and maintain operational dashboards and KPI reports.
  • Deep knowledge of domestic transportation and export practices.
  • Strong problem solving, leadership, and communication skills; ability to work on site with occasional off hours support.
  • Valid driver's license required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing third-party logistics or contract warehouse providers preferred.
  • Experience in an industrial, or (specialty) chemicals manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Responsible Care®, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or GMP standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the site safety culture by ensuring the contractor's HS&E program complies with OSHA, Responsible Care®, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF, and GMP standards as applicable.
  • Oversee safety training, contractor qualification requirements, trainer certifications, and documentation control.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations; ensuring Corrective Action Reports (CARs) are completed within required timeframes.
  • Conduct safety walks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and behavior-based observations; verify PPE compliance and safe work practices.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness, business continuity, and recall readiness by conducting drills and mock recalls with thorough documentation of lessons learned.
  • Provide day-to-day performance oversight of the warehouse contractor and hold them accountable to the scope, SLA, and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliant product handling across receiving, storage, picking, staging, value-added services, and loading per established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage receipt and shipping processes including documentation accuracy, trailer/container inspections, loading standards, OS&D exception reporting, and required photo documentation.
  • Oversee export coordination with the admin team, drayage, and freight forwarders; manage drop-and-hook and live loads for urgent shipments.
  • Coordinate warehouse support for adjacent manufacturing operations, including raw material staging, finished goods storage, and alignment with production schedules.
  • Oversee the sample preparation and shipping program, maintaining controlled storage, inventory accuracy, and on-time dispatch.
  • Maximize warehouse space utilization and product throughput while ensuring safe warehouse operations .
  • Maintain robust cycle count program with independent verification and monthly reporting; conduct root-cause analysis with corrective actions for inventory variances.
  • Lead quarterly and annual physical inventories maintaining traceability, documentation, and readiness for third-party/audits.
  • Enforce damage-free handling and strict damage/off-spec product segregation
  • Manage inventory reporting, adjustments and contractual shrinkage claims.
  • Oversee labeling and material reclassifications to ensure 100% alignment between system records and physical inventory.
  • Ensure transaction accuracy and data integrity in SAP, WMS, and related systems.
  • Act as the site SME for SAP/WMS providing guidance and training
  • Establish dashboards and monthly metrics/KPI reports covering safety, quality, and operations to deliver insights and recommended actions to leadership.
  • Manage site infrastructure, loading docks, life-safety systems, and housekeeping.
  • Oversee material handling equipment (MHE) maintenance, inspections, certifications, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the site budget and contractor costsvalidate invoicing accuracy, and identify strategic cost-saving opportunities while maintaining strict safety and service standards.
  • Approve contractor supply purchases in adhering to the Responsible Procurement policy.
  • Align staffing and training plans with contractor's leadership to support seasonal demand and growth.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce SOPs and work instructions for contractor's workforce.
  • Drive the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) to improve warehouse throughput, inventory -and shipping accuracy, and productivity.
  • Uphold 5S organizational excellence across all warehouse and office spaces.
  • Lead and support capital and transformation projects including warehouse automation and WMS enhancements.
  • Drive high service-level performance by collaborating with key internal teams to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks rapidly.
