About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Facility Technician based onsite at our Avery Creek, NC manufacturing facility. The Facility Technician is responsible for coordinating general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. They ensure that heating and plumbing systems perform at optimum functionality, the installations HVAC and the upkeep of the landscape. Essentially, the goal of a Facility Technician is to maintain the facilities and common areas in the best possible condition. This position reports through the EHS function so there will also be EHS related projects and involvement as the need arises. The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of facilities management/maintenance or similar relevant experience.
  • Available to work mandatory overtime when needed.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Asheville, NC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year EHS experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
  • Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with contractors on repairs and maintenance.
  • Obtain quotes and process payments to contractors and vendors.
  • Work with internal maintenance team to prioritize projects.
  • MESH Champion of facility related elements: Security, Contractor EHS Management, Storm water, others as assigned.
  • Participate and Co-lead Safety Team, Emergency Response Team, Energy Management/Green Team.
  • Work closely with security team on monthly and annual security checklist.
  • Learn facility systems and create standard work (HVAC, generator, fire alarm, compressor, and lighting).
  • Survey the building for repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage fleet car process including routine maintenance.
  • Coordinate Lawn maintenance and janitorial crew.
  • Manage and oversee contractors working on facility projects and maintenance.
  • Manage relationships with vendors such as electricians, plumbers, and other services required for facility projects.
