About the position

The Facility Technician role is focused on ensuring the safe, dependable, and efficient operation of the facility's boiler, refrigeration, and utility equipment. The technician will assist with operational projects and maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining equipment functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the facility's boiler, refrigeration, and utility equipment.
  • Assist with operational projects within maintenance and preventive maintenance skill sets.
  • Perform typical Steam Boiler operation as an energy manager.
  • Manage water chemistry, general maintenance, rounds, and documentation.
  • Oversee inventory management and maintenance assistance.
  • Implement cost reduction programs and training initiatives.
  • Manage electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulatory bodies such as OSHA, ASME, and NFPA.
  • Work independently to start/stop equipment and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and Black Seal license required.
  • Basic computer skills to complete web-based training.
  • 3-5 years' experience with boilers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
