About The Position
The Facility Technician is an entry-level position that conducts proactive/reactive maintenance on buildings, building systems and/or vehicles. This position's work will vary from day-to-day and may include, but not limited to conducting routine maintenance on HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems, hydraulic systems, compressed air systems, portable/test/wastewater systems, vehicle oil/filter changes, brake replacement, etc. The incumbent may also assemble, rework, install, service mechanical/electrical components and systems. He/She may operate various pieces of heavy equipment. This individual is required to determine the cause of technical problems - Utilizing prints/technical manuals, critical thinking skills and the input of experts. In addition, this role may also be required to maintain appropriate spare parts inventories and create/process purchase orders (POs) and invoices.
