About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to maintain, repair, and improve the physical infrastructure of the facility. This role involves hands-on maintenance across multiple disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.
2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, building codes, etc.).
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
Good communication and time management skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual labor as needed.

Nice To Haves

EPA 608 Certification (for HVAC roles)
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and perform repairs / upgrades as needed.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems.
Perform minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing, painting, fixture mounting / exchanging, drywall repairs etc.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service tickets, and emergency repairs.
Assemble, install, or repair furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
Ensure that building systems are operating efficiently and comply with safety standards.
Work with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders.
Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Assist with office moves, furniture relocations, and space setups.
Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms, storage areas, and common areas.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in daily operations.
