About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to maintain, repair, and improve the physical infrastructure of the facility. This role involves hands-on maintenance across multiple disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, building codes, etc.).
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual labor as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA 608 Certification (for HVAC roles)
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and perform repairs / upgrades as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems.
  • Perform minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing, painting, fixture mounting / exchanging, drywall repairs etc.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service tickets, and emergency repairs.
  • Assemble, install, or repair furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Ensure that building systems are operating efficiently and comply with safety standards.
  • Work with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Assist with office moves, furniture relocations, and space setups.
  • Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms, storage areas, and common areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in daily operations.
