About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: We are in search of a skilled painter to fill this position Under general supervision, basic general technical tasks on: electrical systems, fire safety systems, HVAC systems, mechanical and plumbing systems, and architectural systems. Architectural systems may include but are not limited to interior and exterior doors (including fire and some doors), ceiling systems, and wall systems. General tasks may include trouble-shooting minor issues on the pneumatic tube system, patient beds, nurse call systems, and televisions. General tasks also include shop cleanup and other general maintenance and upkeep. Works with a team and takes initiative. Helps maintain departmental compliance with governmental standards with documentation and with computerized maintenance management systems. Maintains a clean, neat and safe work environment.

• Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs)
• Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
• Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License and meet auto insurability requirements as approved by Phoebe Putney Health System's insurance company.
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 0 - 1-year Electrical repair, HVAC, and/or Mechanical maintenance, installation or contracting (Required)
• Have near normal hearing - Hear alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice
• Have near normal vision - Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors
• Have good - manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to perform - repetitive tasks/motion
• Standing - Frequently within shift (34-66%)
