About The Position

This position reports directly to the Associate Manager of Facilities, under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager. The role is responsible for maintenance and repair of hydraulic presses, as well as supporting various facilities needs across the site. Candidates must be able to read and interpret blueprints, support supervisors with structural design, planning, and layout, and safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. Compliance with local building codes and all health and safety regulations is required. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor tasks and may involve exposure to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions. The role requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, climbing (ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps), balancing, bending, reaching, handling/fingering, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. The position may also require the safe operation of material‑handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, hoists, man lifts, snowplows, etc.). Employees may work around variable noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals, requiring the use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, goggles, face shields, gloves, hard hats, steel‑toed footwear, shop coats, and hearing protection. Employees must be able to don and remove required PPE when entering or exiting manufacturing, laboratory, or other controlled areas. The role requires driving between various locations within the facility. Some duties may take place in a standard office environment using computers and standard office equipment. The position may require varying shifts and hours to support operational needs. General maintenance tasks, such as snow plowing or mowing, may also be required. Ability to distinguish colors may be necessary.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Support supervisors with structural design, planning, and layout
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment
  • Compliance with local building codes and all health and safety regulations
