About The Position

The Facility Systems Technician II is a skilled position focused on the maintenance and operation of various systems including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical distribution, and plumbing within healthcare facilities. This role requires minimal supervision and aims to ensure a safe working environment while providing exceptional service to support the operational needs of small and midsize hospitals and clinics.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of commercial experience with HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License for all Mercy locations.
  • High Pressure Boiler Operator's License (if applicable) within 90 days of employment.
  • Class C Tank Operator Training and Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • EPA Universal Certification for handling Refrigerants within 12 months of employment.
  • Fire door maintenance training certification within 90 days of employment.
  • UL fire stop training certification within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School.
  • 5 or more years of experience in facility maintenance within a healthcare environment.
  • Boiler, HVAC, or Refrigeration licensure.
  • Training in NFPA 80 regulations for fire door inspection and maintenance.
  • Training in UL standards for fire stopping.
  • ASSE 6040 training for medical gas maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and repair electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Support the maintenance of movable equipment and physical plant equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Utilize exceptional customer service and communication skills in interactions with staff and patients.
  • Complete work assignments efficiently and in a high-quality manner.
