About The Position

The Facility Support Technician position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. This position plays a major role in the Maintenance Department team in performing repairs and maintenance to equipment and facilities. Requirements

Basic knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs
Strong attention to detail and safety
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and maintenance equipment
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position.
Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies (50+ pounds)
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
Indoor and outdoor work conditions
Onsite attendance is required of this position.
Completion of YMCA of the USA Child Abuse and Appropriate Touch classes
Completion of the YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens training
Completion of the YMCA’s Social Media & Digital Communications class
Completion of the YMCA’s Safe Lifting training
Additional training classes as required for this position to meet YMCA quality standards.

Responsibilities

Monitor fitness floor, locker rooms, and common areas for cleanliness and safety.
Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on fitness equipment.
Conduct daily facility inspections and address maintenance needs promptly.
Respond to staff requests for assistance with equipment, supplies, and facility needs.
Assist with moving equipment, room setups, and breakdowns for programs and events.
Address minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair issues.
Maintain building exterior and grounds, including walkways and outdoor spaces.
Support emergency response procedures and small plant-related emergencies.
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and risk management standards.
Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs as needed.
Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
Report directly to the Branch Executive on all facilities-related matters.
